Key Remote Still Not Working After a New Battery? Try This
If a fresh battery didn't fix your key remote, the problem is somewhere else. Here are the most common causes and their solutions.

Check 1: Correct Battery Orientation
The + and – sides must face the right direction. An inverted battery will damage nothing but won't power the fob. Re-open and confirm orientation.
Check 2: Battery Quality
Cheap supermarket coin cells often have lower output. Use a reputable brand (Duracell, Energizer, Panasonic) and check the expiry date on the packaging.
Check 3: Re-Synchronisation
Some vehicles require the remote to be re-synced after a battery change. Your handbook usually explains the procedure — often pressing Lock + Unlock simultaneously near the vehicle.
Check 4: Damaged Circuit Board
If the battery is fine and re-sync doesn't work, the circuit board's transmitter may be damaged. Key 2 BHP can test and repair or replace the board on-site.
Check 5: Vehicle's Receiver Fault
If both of your keys' remotes stopped working simultaneously, the fault is in the vehicle's receiver — not the fobs. Requires OBD diagnosis.
